Roosevelt Skerrit Wins Again
Last week saw Roosevelt Skerrit sworn-in for the third time in six years as the Prime Minister of Dominica. Surrounded by his most trusted political advisers Skerrit took the oath of office.
Skerrit and the Dominica Labour Party earned an impressive 18-3 victory over their main rival, the United Workers Party on December 18th. As the Prime Minister said, “We have a government in place and my hope is that all of us will work together towards the development of this country. We will look towards continued governance of the country with respect to all its institutions, laws and the Constitution of Dominica.”
Prime Minister Skerrit, backed by Hartley Henry, Attorney General Francine Baron-Royer and others, explained to the Caribbean Media Corporation that he will continue with his Finance portfolio and that he will delay naming his Cabinet until after the Christmas holiday.
